Korean kids sticking their finger up…

So Korean pranks are seriously different to western ones. Seriously seriously different. In KOREA, they think it’s ok to stick a finger up your bum when you’re not looking. In fact they find it hilarious. Apparently they do it all the time and it is simply considered a childish prank. Well call me a bit of a wet blanket if you must but I find NOTHING funny about people trying to jam their fingers up my…

My boss informed mr it’s ‘teachnical’ name is Dong Chim, meaning ‘Poop needle’. (Which I have to admit is a lil funny..!) It is performed by clasping the hands together so the index fingers are pointing out and attempting to insert them sharply into someone’s @nal region when the victim is not looking. GROSS.

A picture tells a 1000 words...!!!

Mainly it’s just the young ones who do this, aged 8 or below I guess. Not that age has anything to do with whether it’s good or not. It has to do with the fact that, child or not, I don’t want someone forcibly jamming their fingers into my *beep*. One of my fellow teaching buddies in Geumchon told me one her students grabbed her (sizeable!) breasts and gave her a nipple twister. Wrong, just wrong.

Dude, I talked to my KT yesterday about it and she said that even adults do it. Of course, they are usually drunk when they do it but it is something that a lot of Koreans do – young and old.
It’s also popular to see in cartoons. Naruto and Shin Chan to name two – both Japanese. So it isn’t just a Korean thing either.
We need to bring this to the rest of world. Everyone should enjoy a good poke in the booty. Butt poking for all!

American equivalent: meat check. Though I’ve never seen an 8-year-old do that.

Almost happened to me the other day… a 3rd grade girl was walking behind my in an aisle between the desks- I felt something brush my bum and I turned around just in time to see the clasped hands with needle protruding, winding back ready to strike. A stern look (probably more afraid than stern), a finger wag, and “AN-I-YO” sent her back to her seat. Close call #1.

Haha yikes close call. Supposedly it’s what they do here instead of giving a wedgie…its a bit more ‘intrusive’ though! haha :)

I don’t think I want to even know what the policy is…haha. But I do know that adults do it to other adults as a prank so it’s not just for kids!
