I have always heard of these report of how stunning and beautiful Ireland is but I have yet to visit.

  2. December 2, 2016 / 9:32 am

    Congrats Janet!
Well for me this price would be great.
    1) I could visit Ireland… and Iceland. (and this is a good start isn’t it?)
    2) I would bring my boyfriend as he is been to australia and NZ but that’s all. He needs to travel a bit more!
    3) Instagram paradise, he has to be better at being an IG husband. ;)
But basically… I just want to go.
    Insert 30 more excuses here.

I’m an avid traveler and current expat living in Czech Republic. Although I’ve been living in Europe for almost 3 years, I’ve never gotten the chance to travel to Iceland. My boyfriend and I would love to have a new experience like this! :)

  4. December 2, 2016 / 9:39 am

Iceland is the dream country! Would love to go …

  5. December 2, 2016 / 9:39 am

I recently came back, but I definitely will go back again! Such an amazing country!

  6. December 2, 2016 / 9:42 am

Love your blog – uber motivating to do solo travelling. I’m so inspired by your blogs that I even booked a solo trip to Cuba to backpack around with no tour! Keep up the writing and stories.

I had planned a trip to Iceland last year but 3 days before I was due to fly I broke my foot. Sobbing in the A&E is not a good look but I was gutted :0 These tickets would so make up for that. I would go with my sister who has been dying to go to.

    Fingers crossed xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Just discovered your blog! Friday’s gonna be an unproductive day at work… My good friend Angie is heading away travelling for a year in March, and Iceland was on our bucket list. She’s saving hard for her trip so we’ve had to put it on the back burner until (if!) she comes home, so would love to win!

what a great partnership, Janet! still amazed by your blogging persistence! you are a great example to many of us that hard work pays off (and that’s applicable outside the blogging world as well:).

Me and my boyfriend have been discussing Iceland for some time now so winning two tickets would be absolutely awesome gift to us! :)

  10. December 2, 2016 / 9:46 am

Iceland would be a dream come true for me. The fire and the ice, the raw wilderness and the sheer adventure it holds! I’d love to explore some of the vast wilderness and meet some locals, head off the tourist trail a little and find more than what instagram shows :) but also some of that too!
I would definitely bring my best friend; she is getting married in 2018, all her money is tied up in the wedding and her fiancé is terrified of flying. She loves travelling but really only does it with me and for the last year i’ve been on the other side of the world. It would be an awesome gift to give her for a best friends reunited and pre wedding adventure :) So Fingers crossed.
I think I would cry/we would both cry if this was to happen <3

I’ve wanted to go to Iceland since I was a child but getting there was always so difficult despite it being relatively close to Ireland / Scotland. There were direct flights from Glasgow on IcelandAir but they were always so highly priced (esp for a student nurse as I was in those days) I’m still desperate, desperate, desperate to go……it looks so totally amazing & unspoiled as well as so completely different to anywhere else in the world. And now my photography skills are a bit better & I have good cameras I think I could do it justice……your Blog has convinced me, Janet……I’ve also flown over Iceland several times flying to & from the US & ive been lucky to get some spectacular views of this island – once from the jump seat in the cockpit of a 747 in the early morning & I’ll never forget that sight…..ahhhh, those halcyon flying days Pre 9/11…..

If I were to win I could think of nobody I’d like to travel there with more than you, Janet, Journalist On the Run if that’s allowed…..

Fantastic prize Janet. If I won I would give the flights to my parents. I took my Mam to Iceland last year because she had wanted to see the northern lights since she was 14! She loved it so much but afterwards said she felt sad that she couldn’t share it with my Dad. So I would send them both to share the time together x

  13. December 2, 2016 / 9:51 am

Visiting Iceland is soooo much on my to do list for a 2017!

  14. December 2, 2016 / 9:52 am

It’s been a dream for both my boyfriend and I to go to Iceland but since we travel on such a tight budget usually the flights are just that small bit out of our price range. Getting to do the Ring Road and seeing all the major attractions would be so amazing! And you would also be helping a fellow travel blogger out as a bonus :)

About a year and a half ago I visited Ireland for two weeks. From Galway to Dublin, all I found was beautiful people, delicious food, and greenery. This year, I attempted to plan a trip to Iceland with friends that fell through last minute. Not only would be it be wonderful to have an excuse to see the beauty of Dublin again, but Iceland is number one on my travel list at the moment, so why not both? *Inserts meme of Old El Paso Kit girl holding up two tacos*

I would be more than excited being able to fulfill my dream of going to Iceland as I am so impressed by all the pictures I´ve seen and stories I´ve heard so far. It looks just stunning!

As travel partner I´d go for a great friend of mine who I met abroad and who shares the same passion of travelling that I do have and whenever we meet up we meet at some place away from home as we don´t live that close and want to share something fun together. We would make absolutely the best out of that trip!! ;)

Fingers crossed, maybe this dream comes true!

P.S.: As I´ve completely fallen in love with Ireland during a 6 months stay in Cork I this would be the best reason to get back there so soon before starting a new adventure.

  17. December 2, 2016 / 9:59 am

Congrats on 1 million readers, that’s huge!

And what an awesome price to celebrate this milestone. I would love to visit Iceland for many reasons:

    1. To discover if it’s even more beautiful than New Zealand
    2. To follow the itinerary I created for my sister in law and her husband for their honeymoon
    3. To swim between the tectonic plates, the idea fascinates me!

I would take my younger sister, she’s been dreaming about visiting Iceland even longer than I have…

  18. December 2, 2016 / 9:59 am

I’d absolutely love to win flights to Iceland!! I’ve been dying to go for ages, and flying from Ireland would be so handy!

  19. December 2, 2016 / 10:01 am

It’s on my bucket list to get myself and Jake to Iceland to see the northern lights and relax in the hot springs!

Would love a chance to visit Iceland…it’s on my bucket list for awhile now with its beautiful scenery and unique natural attractions. Would bring my lovely mum with me as she deserves a break from working tirelessly on our home farm and she also has a massive appreciation of the natural beauty iceland has to offer!

  21. December 2, 2016 / 10:02 am

Wow, congratulations! That’s quite the achievement :) I’ve been following you for a while now as I have ‘travel blogger aspirations’ and what better way is there than to learn from the best! Can’t believe you’re going at it for six years already..

I recently graduated with a degree in International Communication and Media. Needless to say that all my friends end up working all over the world. And so, I would like to take a very good friend of mine who I haven’t seen in a while.. Here it comes: she lives in Dublin! How perfect is that?! We’ve been talking about meeting up for about two years now, so this would be the perfect opportunity! It would also be a great warm-up to practice my photography skills :) I’ve had a very neat camera since my first big trip on my own. It’s been gathering dust for 6 years now so it’s time to take it out on a date again, haha.

Iceland has been on my list for such a long time now. I’d love to spot the northern light! Or check out the beautiful waterfalls and cliffs. Or go whale spotting! Here in The Netherlands the canals with a bike popping up here and there is as exciting as it gets. I could use some more excitement and would love to celebrate my graduation and ‘ticket to freedom’ with my friend from Dublin. Fingers crossed and thank you for this ‘cool’ (you get it, Iceland is pretty cold and all) giveaway! Best whishes from The Netherlands xoxo

Hi Janet, been reading your blog for a while now, I love the way you talk about everything with great details and very useful information, congrats you deserve the million readers and many more!
I have been working my ass off this year and trying to handle college and a beautiful 3yo daughter all at the same time and really would make me some good to have a trip to Iceland, I would do it in March during school break :D . My boyfriend was just talking about Iceland sometime ago saying we should go there, so here is the chance! Also I could visit my brother who lives in Dublin! Im in Belgium now but lived 4 unforgetable and amazing years in your country and I miss it a lot! <3

  23. December 2, 2016 / 10:04 am

Iceland is a fascinating place for its landscapes and I’d dream to shoot it. Since I’ve visited Scotland, I fell in love with this kind of beauty and the feeling of the cold waking me, ah ah.
I’d like to go with my dad as he would really need such a break after so many health trouble. It would also be a way to thank him for his support recently. He understood why after 19 years I quit the company he also worked for his whole life. It was a huge step in our relationship.

  24. December 2, 2016 / 10:05 am

I wanted to go to Iceland for a long time and finally booked for February and then I had to cancel due to a major problem with my travel partner. And now this happens – fingers crossed for me and my gorgeous man (=

  25. December 2, 2016 / 10:14 am

I had the chance to visit Iceland for a quick weekend trip in June. What a beautiful country! You are so right when you say it is a photographer’s paradise – the light is just amazing! I am anxious to go back to see more than just the Golden Circle and to fulfill a dream of seeing the Aurora Borealis – it isn’t visible in June! I would take my adult son with me – he is an avid outdoors enthusiast/traveler as well.
Congratulations on the million readers! What a milestone!

    Hi Janet!
First of all, I’m such a fan! As a journalist student I aspire to have a career even half as successful as yours.
I loved following your trip to Iceland, I wanted to go more than ever as it has always been on my bucket list.
I would bring my best friend Niamh as she tags me in posts about Iceland regularly and has made it her mission to get us there in 2017, on a student budget!!
I’d love to be able to tell her that I’ve managed to win us flights!
It would also be a great opportunity to practice my travel writing and also use my gopro!
    Fingers crossed!!

  28. December 2, 2016 / 10:20 am

Amazing :) I would bring my little brother. He is in high school and has social anxiety and doesn’t leave the house much. I think this would be an amazing trip for us to get away together!!

Iceland is literally top on my bucket list. Life as an adult gets in the way of travelling these days, but if i won the flights i would bring my best friend, who I met on the most wonderful year of my life travelling around Asia, Australia and NZ.

Have always thought Iceland a majestic place; in people, politics, and landscape. My partner and I spoke about going as our first extended trip overseas together. We then got pregnant and recently our family planning hopes took a different turn. I would take my partner as a kind of healing trip.

  32. December 2, 2016 / 10:33 am

I visited Iceland last December. It was so magical, but I didn’t see the northern lights (a bucket list item of mine!). I’d also love to visit in summer to experience the 24 hours of daylight since we only had 5 hours of daylight, which made it harder to appreciate the incredible landscape when driving! I’d love to go back to just appreciate the sheer beauty of Iceland! Thanks so much for this!

1 million visitors – that is brilliant! Hubs & I are expecting our 3rd baby & would love a quick baby moon to Iceland . Congrats again, love your blog!

  37. December 2, 2016 / 10:47 am

It is not easy and affordable to reach Iceland from Bosnia and Herzegovina, non-EU country. My husband and I are travel addicts and we heard beautiful stories about this magical country and we would like to experience it by travelling in a van across the country. But before that, we need to save long time for this trip to come true. Or to win them! That would be a dream come true! Thank you so much!

    December 2, 2016 / 10:50 am

Thanks Janet for the opportunity! Your blog is great! I love traveling and Iceland has been on my list for so long. I’d bring my mom because she has never traveled by plane before! It would be an awesome mother-daughter bonding experience. :)

I’d love to visit Iceland again as the last time the weather was so bad I saw little of the Golden Triangle and looking at photos of it I’m simply heartbroken I missed it all. Another chance please! I’d like to take my brother with me as he’d never be able to go on his own.

  41. Catherine Scott
    December 2, 2016 / 10:59 am

I’ve been dying to visit Iceland for years now, but I haven’t managed to save up enough money to go yet. So it would be great to win these tickets and I could tick Iceland off my bucket list! Would love to bring my dad with me, as I know he’d love it even more than me and I think he could use a break as he works so hard and does so much for our family.

  42. December 2, 2016 / 10:59 am

It’s my 30th birthday in April and I’ve been planning a 10-day road trip around Iceland. These flights would be a wonderful birthday surprise and would mean I could have a little extra cash to treat myself somewhere on the road! I’ll also be sure to blog about it :)

I’ve wanted to visit Iceland so much after watching an episode of America’s next top model (hangover tv don’t judge ) a million years ago with the fabulous black sand beach Reynisfjara. Since those days I’ve moved to stalking every instagramer that goes there! I would love love love this trip and I would take my friend Vee who always wants to travel but life gets in the way Thanks for the opportunity to win this prize I’ll be keeping all my fingers and toes crossed

I’d love to go back again with Tim (my lifetime adventure partner) – this time in the right season for Northern Lights. Plus I’d like to take Tim to see Dublin, and visit some friends at the same time.

  45. December 2, 2016 / 11:01 am

I would love to go and take my husband with me :D We both would love to visit Iceland but from Portugal is very expensive. So I would love to go and visit Dublin again and then fly from there to Iceland :D Perfect trip!

NORTHERN LIGHTS!! Irish lady so I’m keeping it short n Sweet – I am Star obsessed since I was 4!! (in late 30’s now) It’s only a bonus that stars are fashion now but to see the real things in this scope would be like a dream. Also boyfriend visiting for Xmas n would be amazing to surprise him too

Studying in Iceland a few years ago was the adventure that hooked me on this feeling of living abroad and indulging in the learning of a different culture. I so want to go back with my sweetheart to show him what this country brought me and share the Iceland experience!

    December 2, 2016 / 11:06 am

Congrats on reaching 1million Janet. Iceland has been a dream for my boyfriend and I to go to for awhile now. We’re both under a lot of pressure at work at the moment that’s causing a strain in our relationship so to win this opportunity would be great so we can relax under the Northern lights, bathe in The Blue Lagoon, and to meet the lovely people of Iceland who I hear are very friendly. We’re both massive nature fans so we would love to see the beauty of Iceland. Plus i’m starting a blog and would love to write about Iceland as my first blog post. :)

  51. December 2, 2016 / 11:15 am

Would love to take my mum as I haven’t seen her in almost 7 months and she hasn’t been abroad in over 10 years!

  52. Sabrina Moris
    December 2, 2016 / 11:18 am

If I were to win I would bring my boyfriend. Last year when we met I tried to stay in Ireland for a 3 month tourist visa after my work visa ended to figure things out, but was denied entrance back into Ireland and kinda deported but after the good will of the passport control man this past July I was able to come back and study my masters in Dublin. That’s why I would love to use these flights to celebrate our anniversary and take my boyfriend to Iceland since he has not been to many places outside of Ireland. We both love nature and always drive to the Dublin mountains, so driving around Iceland would be the perfect holiday for us.
Thank you! Hope you are having a amazing time in South Africa

    December 2, 2016 / 11:23 am

    Hi Janet,
I have never visited Iceland. I would dearly love to go. My girlfriend has been and from what she told me, it sounds and looks truly breathtaking.
However, she went on a bus tour to see the Northern Lights and, unfortunately, it was a cloudy night so it was very hard to see them. They waited in the cold of the night for ages to get a glimpse. The tour guide pointed them in the direction where they could get a faint glimpse but my girlfriend couldn’t see anything.
The tour operator had said that they would issue refunds if the Northern Lights were not visible but they said that the lights had been visible that night and wouldn’t refund.

Help me surprise my girlfriend with a surprise trip.
Maybe this time we can see the Aurora Borealis together :-)

  54. Martin Lahiffe
    December 2, 2016 / 11:31 am

I would take my partner as she has always wanted to go to Iceland and before our baby arrives would be fantastic as our travels may be curtailed for a while after July next year

Always wanted to go with my daughter as I hear it’s gorgeous! Thanks

  57. December 2, 2016 / 11:42 am

What an absolutely amazing price! I’ve been dreaming of going to Iceland for years and I couldn’t believe my luck when flights started from Dublin, where I live. I haven’t been able to afford it yet but my dream would be to surprise my husband with a trip there, a dip in the blue lagoon and views of the Northern lights. Who knows, this may be our chance! Only downside if we win is that I’d never shut up about it with my friends, on the blog, on social media… Thank you for having me dream of this trip.

  58. December 2, 2016 / 11:48 am

I’ve been dying to visit Iceland and the Blue Lagoon! And see the Northern Lights (hopefully!) and go hitchhiking since I read it’s the safest country in the world :) I’d take my bf or my son with me as I know either of them would absolutely love it!

  59. Nikita
    December 2, 2016 / 11:54 am

Hey Janet! Also been web stalking you! Don’t have twitter so this I’ll have to do. I’d love to win the flights because: one, I’ll have to leave from Ireland and of course I should revisit the first place I’ve ever travelled to (and just a few times more after that). Second, it’s Iceland!! I’ve heard so many stories and seen a gazillon pictures off you, Rose, Emily, Rick…It’s time! Also I’m too poor to travel this year, I’ll have to choose between finally moving country again or summer travels. All this aside, have a great time and see you somewhere again eventually!

  60. Silvia
    December 2, 2016 / 11:55 am

I would love to take my boyfriend there since this is one of our dream trips.

  61. December 2, 2016 / 11:57 am

I want those tickets because I think I deserve to visit Ireland again and Iceland for the first time. Because I dream about Iceland for so many years, and it can be a teaser of my maybe life there if I can move. Because I love photography and Iceland it seems like the ultimate place for taking amazing flickers.

I would take with me whoever is willing to join me and enjoy a real Icelandic adventure.

  62. Erica
    December 2, 2016 / 11:58 am

After a very dark time, I met my significant other via a travel Facebook group. We were planning about going to Iceland soon and celebrate our birthdays together on that beautiful island away from the madding crowd.
Winning would be the most awesome way to conclude this 2016 :)

  63. December 2, 2016 / 12:04 pm

Major bucket list item for the last few years and being from Ireland its only proper to visit a close neighbour :) it’ll also be my 36th birthday which is depressing so need cheering up! I’d probably bring a friend of mine who is keen on outdoor activities so we can make the most of all Iceland has to offer.

  64. Louise
    December 2, 2016 / 12:10 pm

I would Love to go to Iceland to see northern light for the first time. I would really want to try the hot springs with amazing views and discover their food that I don’t know at all. I like to knit so buying yarn would be cool :) i would go with my sister because she is dreaming to go there. Let’s make it â family sis’ trip!! :) thx for this contest Janet!!! Safe travels.

Every year I try to immerse myself in a new culture and make new friends along this journey. Iceland is on my bucket list. I will skateboard down the long winding roads, bath in the springs, enjoy the local food and drink, learn about the history and traditions of Icelandic people. I will take my father because he is my hero and best friend. I will document the entire journey with photographs and videos. Everyday is an adventure but just that much more epic in Iceland.

  66. Claire Brown
    December 2, 2016 / 12:12 pm

Iceland has been on my bucket list for so long. It’s the dream, the landscape as a photographer is just dreamy!

  67. December 2, 2016 / 12:13 pm

I would love to take my aunt with me who means the world to me and loves traveling no matter her age. Both Ireland and Iceland are top on my bucket list and this is perfect to first visit Ireland and then fly out to Iceland from there

  68. December 2, 2016 / 12:17 pm

I’ve been away from Ireland for almost two years and me and a friend are planning to go to Iceland just over a week after I get back! This would make our experience even better!

Janet, I follow your blog with pleasure and fun, and this time it could be ME- „the journalist on the run.“
I would explore Iceland to he max and have a lot of fun and relax. Adventures in the nature would wait for my boyfriend and me, and we could go with flights for free!
So, Janet, you agree? I should be the winner oft he WOW air- flights, I guarantee!
My boyfriend wanted to go there for a long time, too, and it would be a great surprise for him, Yuchu!

We would love to go hiking and explore the stunning nature there, and staying up the whole night, just to see the Northern Lights.
As I love water so much, we would travel to the Jökulsárlón, the glacial lake, and make hundreds of pictures of the seals.
If I would win, I would tell all people in Iceland about you, so that they would also „follow“ you.
When you treturn to Iceland later on, too, everybody would know you, as all would know the prize was from you!

This would be a great excuse to visit Ireland (where my family are from!)…I’m a scout leader and a lover of the outdoors so it would be awesome to win these and take my best friend from australia to visit both ireland and iceland when she comes and visits me next year! :)

  73. December 2, 2016 / 1:16 pm

Janet this is unreal…well done! The reasons I would love to win are a) I have never been on a holiday in my 27 years, and b) After watching The Secret Life of Walter Mitty last year I fell in love with the wild, untouched Icelandic scenery (those winding roads ❤) and, like you, had a photography itch that needed to be scratched.

Wow, amazing news for hitting a million views – and wow for the chance to win WOW tickets! ^_^ I’d take my husband to the trip: we met in Dublin – he a Brazilian, me a Finn. This would first be a little romantic getaway to Dublin and then showcasing him the splendour of Scandi scenery. Of course, I’d love to see Iceland too and take a bath in the geysirs!

On a personal level 2016 has been the year from hell and l could really do with some positivity in my life right now. My wonderful partner has been incredibly supportive to me during the worst twelve months of my life. l really want to repay him for all that he has done for me and a trip to Iceland would be the perfect present. I could also contribute a piece for your blog about the wonderful experience courtesy of Journalist on the Run and Wow Air. Xx

I went to Canada for 5 weeks this summer because it was my 18th birthday. I went by myself, alone. but for my sister’s 30th birthday, I would love to make this susprise for her, travelling with her. a unique experience.

  87. December 2, 2016 / 2:36 pm

I remember when I found your blog nearly two years ago when I decided I wanted to become a journalist (one of the deciding factors begin that I would be able to travel as a job) it seemed like I had found the one person that was my role model and idol rolled into one. Your aim of reaching 30 countries before you were 30 was something I thought was impossible and you made me see that maybe I could maybe achieve something so amazing.

I have recently become really interested in photography (after being gifted a superb Sony camera) and MOJO, mostly after seeing you be a class blogger on trains and up mountains and all sorts, it’s definitely an area that is so dynamic and just plain cool that extremely excites me.

Going to Iceland is something I have always thought would be so intriguing, I remember writing a (pretend) travel article about Iceland for leaving cert and the juices have been flowing ever since.

In particular I would love to bring my boyfriend, who is just as adventurous as I am, but unfortunately due to lack of money (poor students alert) we never get the chance to experience everything we wish for.

We are active and open people who would love and benefit from this trip.

Even if I don’t win this prize, I will continue to read and enjoy this blog, and I’m happy I got to voice my love for you and appreciation for what you’re doing.

    Thanks Janet.

    Keep being class and inspiring,

    Regards,
    Aisling x

Hey, live reading the bloh. What an incredible achievement! My favourite place to photograph so far has been Cuba, I would love the challenge of photographing Iceland. Love Icelandic music and have wanted to visit ever since seeing the film rams and making some Icelandic friends while travelling. Also, do you have an instagram? I love travel pictures to inspire me everyday in where to go next!!

  91. December 2, 2016 / 3:40 pm

I’d LOVE to go to Iceland! I would go with my boyfriend Cole and visit the Game of Thrones locations & everywhere on my Iceland pinterest board!

  92. December 2, 2016 / 3:42 pm

Iceland was one of my favorite trips I’ve ever been on! I went during the winter time and would love to explore it in Summer..

  94. December 2, 2016 / 4:20 pm

Iceland would be such a great trip for our honeymoon. We visited in 2012 but I fell terribly sick with food poisoning so it would be amazing to go back and see all the things I missed!

    December 2, 2016 / 4:44 pm

Amazing prize Janet! If I won I would take my hubby with me…we have three small kids and could do with some adventure to remind us of our crazy travelling days…these days we barely get further than the local shop! On a serious note, our 10 year anniversary went by without a big celebration due to sickness and a PhD….so maybe 2017 can be a year to catch up on celebrations!!

  96. December 2, 2016 / 4:54 pm

First of all, WOW! Congratulations on hitting one million views on your blog! That’s equivalent to 1/4 of the population of the Republic of Ireland and definitely worth a big shout out!

I’ve been to Iceland, also flying out from Dublin’s airport with WOW Airlines mid-March of 2016. It was all impulsive decision that I’ve made under the influence of my travel and adventurous bugs within me. Without much research of what is feasible plus affordable tickets from WOW Airlines, I ended up visiting Reykjavik in the middle of blizzard, with most of my trips with local tour companies got cancelled. Still I am grateful for this, knowing that I can go back to Iceland again and this country will still offer mysteries and excitements for me to explore.

If I could do Iceland all over again, I would go when the weather gets calmer, rent a car and hit the road with my favorite Taylor Swift playlist. This time, instead of enjoying the comfort of staying in a warm and crowded hostel, I would bring a tent with me and camp along the road, enjoying night sky away from bustling city noise and light. The biggest difference this time, of course, is to have my best friend, my partner in crime with me. Separating by Atlantic Ocean between us, we’ve been missing each other on our adventures in life. I’ve slowed down my pursuant of adventures with lack of crime partner. In this ultimate dream trip of ours, we would follow trails and hike through unknown paths where not a single soul is within our sight, while struggling with taking handstand photos with breathtaking views as our background. Of course, not to forget to soak ourselves in the hot spring and catch up with each other stories.

Your blog has truly inspire a lot of my trips and I can’t thank you enough for all the tips, photos ideas and suggestions for places to go! Whether or not I win this competition, I know for sure that I am already thrilled and excited about the idea of going back to Iceland, and of course will work my way to make it a dream come true!

  97. December 2, 2016 / 4:58 pm

Iceland has always been my dream destination! I would probably take my sister or my mom. I’d love to visit in the summer and experience the midnight sun!

White nights, glaciers, waterfalls, hot springs, whale watching and picturesque landscape, Iceland is a natural heaven for the outdoor enthusiast. I would love to share this experience with my mother.

  99. December 2, 2016 / 5:48 pm

My Dad is 63 and has always wanted to go on a multi-day trek style Holiday, I don’t have the budget to take him but I would really love to give him the opportunity. It would be great to share with him what I do :) Thanks Janet!

My boyfriend Jamie & I have recently finished a working holiday visa in Australia and we will be home for Xmas this year! Would love to be on the road again within 6 months!

  105. December 2, 2016 / 7:23 pm

The timing of this giveaway is so uncanny. I’ve wanted to visit Iceland since I was younger and my parents ended up stopping over on a trans-Atlantic flight due to weather. My mother’s descriptions made me want to go! In the novel I’m working on, I’ve wanted my protagonist to travel to take an unexpected stopover in Iceland. Visiting there would help the setting come to life! My trip to Iceland would help others visit through armchair travel. I would LOVE to go!

    • December 2, 2016 / 7:24 pm

Oh, and I would probably bring my husband.

  106. Audrey
    December 2, 2016 / 7:35 pm

I spent barely enough time this past month in this beautiful country – it was only three days and I wished it could have been longer. I saw so many breathtaking natural things that I could not believe would leave me in awe. The people are so friendly and lead me to so many different local places I would have never explored or be able to stumble on my own. I would take my father with me on this trip as he deserves a vacation for all the work he has done to make sure my brother and I are comfortable first.

I would love to take my daughter to Iceland. I think it is important for her to grow up experiencing different cultures. I think travel will allow her to grow up an empathetic and open-hearted person. It would be a blessing for us to be able to travel together to a place we otherwise may be ever see.

  111. December 2, 2016 / 11:02 pm

This is such a lovely contest idea Janet! If I won this amazing trip, I’d love to bring my little brother (22 years old), who also doubles as my best friend. He’s only been out of the country once before to visit me in a Korea for week and due to some ridiculous American laws and the corrupt system, he’s now after, he’s been stuck in North Carolina for way too long now. I’d love to brighten and widen his view do the world and show him it’s a magical place and not out to get him. Ever since my accident, he’s been he one that’s been by my side 24/7, going above and beyond for me. I’d love to be able to show him my thanks and appreciation by exposing him to a foriegn place that could brighten his year and shine some light on then possiblity of a happy life in this tough time in his life.

    Thanks for listening,
    Sam :)

  112. December 2, 2016 / 11:54 pm

I would definitely take my aunt as she needs a break from supporting our whole family! And maybe Iceland would inspire to get back to her art. It looks a magical country!

Love your blog, been following for a while now and always get great ideas. I want to win because myself and my boyfriend have been trying to go to Iceland for about 2 years now but work or money or something else keeps getting in the way. Anytime I see something online about Iceland we share it with each and still say how much we want to go! This would be the most epic Christmas present ever!!!!

Congratulations Janet on million viewers, that’s an amazing achievement!

Iceland was the first country to recognise the Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia back in 1990. And it holds a special place in all Latvian hearts, but somehow we never got around to visit Iceland yet! This would be perfect opportunity to meet the courageous people of Iceland and explore their beautiful country!

  127. December 3, 2016 / 2:40 pm

I’m a 22 year-old from Barcelona. I had always been scared of traveling solo until I lived in Prague and knew what it was like to be out of my comfort zone. There I discovered that’s what I want to do with my life: travel, and take pictures (that would be my dream come true). With a friend we have been the last 5 or 6 years saying we should go to Iceland, as we know about people who went there, read this blog and seen so many amazing pictures (I have a photography blog and love taking pictures of raw landscapes). The thing is this friend of mine has been going through a really hard year and I have thought several times to buy two tickets as a present for her, and do a roadtrip for like 2 or 3 weeks, but the flights and the whole plan are still out of my budget, so I thought I had to take a chance, and at least, try.
Thanks for your blog and good luck to everyone!! :)

This would be a dream come true for my husband and I! He’s been in medical school for three years so our travel has been very limited and budgeted strictly. Iceland is a dream of ours and this would make it reachable! Thanks for the amazing contest!

I’m really enjoying your blog!! Thanks so much for sharing with everyone! I recently went back to school for a career change and just graduated with a fantastic job in the hospital!! I’m an avid traveler and have been to a few countries, but school has put off traveling for a bit! I won’t be able to book a trip for a while until some of my debts are paid off. Winning this trip would mean the world to me and would be an absolutely fantastic graduation present!! I would probably bring my best friend as she’s one of the best travel buddies I have and want to do a trip before she settles down and has kids (which will be soon ;))
    Thank you for considering me!!

  130. December 3, 2016 / 3:51 pm

I’m getting married next year (Mar28 to be exact!) and Ive been telling the fiance that we must see the northern lights on our honeymoon. If we win those tickets from WOW then it will be the best wedding gift ever!

  131. December 3, 2016 / 3:56 pm

One of my favorite places in the world for sure! 4 days wasn’t enough and I would love a chance to get back

  132. December 3, 2016 / 4:07 pm

I have seen so many pictures of the Blue Lagoon that I would love to go there. I would bring my lovely friend @EileenMcMahon.

  133. December 3, 2016 / 4:43 pm

Thank you for the opportunity to win it !
If i would win it wouldnt be for me. It would be for my best friend and his girlfriend. Iceland was always his dream. During my life he already helped me so many times, so this would be my chance to show him how much i am grateful to have him. So thats my plan. If i win i will definitely post his reaction on it :) he would get a heart attack i guess haha. Thank you again and my fingers are crossed !!!

Hi Janet, my husband and I are in the process of picking where we’d like to go for our 5 year wedding anniversary, and Iceland is at the top of our list! It must be a sign! Thank you for the opportunity.

  135. December 3, 2016 / 5:44 pm

I think whomever wins this contest is going to love it! I flew WOW recently and really enjoyed them. Plus, you know, Iceland.

  136. George Pequegnat
    December 3, 2016 / 6:59 pm

The wife and I went there before but there was way too much natural beauty to take it all in over five days. If I could go again with her I’d rent a car and simply take a road trip all around to the out of the way places and soak in the local culture, eat local food and take lots and lot of pictures. I would really like to visit the big glacier with the unpronounceable name (like the rest of Iceland).
Thanks for the contest, I love the blog and the chance to return to a very unique country. Maybe next time I’ll buy a sweater there….one covered with sheep and ponies. :)

  137. December 3, 2016 / 7:13 pm

    Wow, what an opportunity!

  148. December 4, 2016 / 12:38 am

When I was a child, my sister and I were obsessed with animation movies. IT’s all we watched ! (paid off, she is now an animator and i did film in college!). There was an animation film released in the 90’s by 20th century Fox called “Balto”. Balto was based on a true story about a husky sled team lead by a siberian husky named balto who led his team on the final leg of the 1925 run to Nome, where diphtheria antitoxin was transported from Anchorage, Alaska, to Nenana, Alaska, by train and then to Nome by dog sled to combat an outbreak of the disease.
In the movie, the dog Balto brings his dog friend Jenna underneath a doctors office after she finds out her owner has the disease and could die. By using broken medicine bottles and sunlight, he creates the Northern Lights. Later on in the movie, she too does the same trick to replicate the Northern Lights to guide Balto home.

This was the first time I had ever heard of the Northern Lights. And I was fascinated with them. At an older age, a family member informed me that they were a real natural phenomenon. I was shown pictures and I fell in love. Over the years I have saved videos online and pictures of the Northern Lights as a reminder that one day I too will see them with my own eyes. Once the money was saved up

Long comment huh ? I do apologise ha! But I have genuinly been dreaming about seeing the Northern Lights since I was a child. To see them in person I am sure will be unlike any experience I have had when travelling. A well and true thing ticked off my Bucket List. I would bring along my best friend so she would be able to experience the beauty first hand with me.

I would love to bring my girlfriend, a fellow wayward traveller but also a geology student who is writing her thesis on volcanic islands and about to graduate. We have always talked about going but have been waiting till we both could perhaps have some disposable income ie. when we are working after grad.

  150. December 4, 2016 / 1:30 am

I’ve been to Iceland a couple times, but I’d love to go back and explore even more! This time I’d take my boyfriend who hasn’t been yet so I can show him how beautiful it is.

Congratulations on your blog and your views! That is so exciting! I would LOVE to travel to Iceland. It’s been on my bucket list for a while now, but I just haven’t gotten there yet. I’ve been dreaming of seeing the Northern Lights for years too and haven’t been able to make it a reality. It would be a great way to knock out both of those dreams. I would love to use it as a graduation present for myself and my boyfriend to make some more travel memories together and celebrate me graduating with highest honors. I’m excited to see who wins and what they decide to do on their trip. Congratulations again and thanks for this awesome giveaway!

  152. December 4, 2016 / 4:21 am

I love this giveaway, what a great idea!

I just flew WOW Air for the first time last weekend, for my second trip to Iceland. I had an amazing time, both in flight and in the country! The WOW employees are so adorable in their purple outfits, it reminded me of when flying was classy and regal. They were so helpful, informative, and friendly too. It’s a really great airline!

If I won, I would go by myself. I love following my own schedule and doing what I want. The only person who agrees with me 100% of the time…is me! My goal for my next Iceland trip is to go to the north to Akureyri in summer to see 24 hours of sun. My ultimate Iceland goal is to do the ring road! There’s so much to see and do…2 trips down, unlimited to go!

  153. December 4, 2016 / 8:16 am

I absolutely love your blog! I would love to travel to Iceland as I too am a travel blogger and it would be very beneficial also to my blog. I’ve always wanted to see it. I would take my boyfriend because he is my travel buddy. We plan to see the world together xx

    Hi Janet!
I would love to win this giveaway more than anything, as I want to finally give back to my boyfriend! He is a pilot himself, and we have travelled to a few places, but when it comes to commercial flights, he has always had an immense phobia! It took him many years to overcome his fear, and now that he can finally fly, I want to fly him to another country myself! It would be my chance to treat him, and surprise him with such an exotic location!

Thanks for the awesome give away

  161. December 4, 2016 / 3:55 pm

I have always wanted to go to Iceland every since I saw a Blue Peter episode about it when I was a small child! The geothermal energy amazes me alone with the natural landscapes and the cool pony breeds! There’s this really cool festival called Secret Solstice on near the Capital city in June (that happens to fall on my anniversary with my significant other) that I’ve been dying to go to for the past couple of years so if possible I would use the flights to go to that! I’m Irish and just graduated from college working freelance so currently don’t have much money as I’m still figuring our this whole “adult thing” and this would actually be amazing, ask anyone, I’ve been obsessed with Iceland for years and WOW air finally makes my visit possible <3 REALLY HOPE I WIN! (I already know what hostel I would stay at)

Iceland is a very important part of my life. Since I was a kid I am mad about this country, and only 2 years ago I had the opportunity to finally be there, that time there were no flights directly from Dublin. Everyday I miss all the moments I experienced there and can’t wait to go back! I would bring my partner with me to show how amazing Iceland is and why it is so important for me!
    :)

Also my girlfriend and I’s favourite country we have visited so far. Went back in 2013 and have always talked about going again. Would be even better with WOW Air!

Iceland is such a magical place and the landscapes are truly breathtaking. I recently had a major loss in my family this past year and my boyfriend has always been my rock and there to support me. I would surprise him with this trip to say thanks for everything he has done for my family and I. It would be an amazing experience for us! <3 Cheers!

Iceland seems like the place where dreams are made off. Stunning landscapes, waterfalls, gletsjers. I’m also attracted by the countless hiking possibilities and every Icelandic person I’ve met so far has been so incredible sweet and caring. It’s a place that’s really high on my bucket list but flights aren’t that cheap for me. So I’m grabbing hold of this chance, and who knows… :-)

  167. December 4, 2016 / 9:47 pm

I would love this prize because just like Janet, I love to travel the world and explore the cultures and surrounds of far lands.
Iceland is one of my top places to visit and this prize would certainly be the best way of getting to visit such a beautiful country.

As to who I would bring, that would have to be my best Friend, Robert.
We recently travelled to Tenerife together and I believe that is the start of many trips around the world we will do together.
He is not just my Friend, he is my travel companion and Iceland is hopefully our next location to visit.

This would be an experience of a life time & somewhere I have always wanted to visit… hopefully one day!

  175. December 5, 2016 / 1:22 pm

Since I was a kid I was drawn to cold places even though I’m cold all the time. I realized now that I’m older that I love travelling so I started a travel photography blog and I’m trying to do things that make me happy, so a trip to Iceland would be an awesome opportunity to evolve my blog and make it better and also because let’s face it, it’s been hell of a year and I need a bit of time off. I’d take my best friend with me, she’s been the rock through all the tough times and always makes me laugh, but most of alls he understands my gypsy soul and adventerous heart. :)

    – It would be a dream to experience the northern lights in Iceland with my partner as it’s something we both want to experience together.

    – We’d love to spend time in the famous hot springs. It would be amazing to feel the benefits of this relaxation practice.

    – The stunning scenery that I can only imagine would be appreciated a thousand times over when you see it right before your eyes. It would be fantastic to see this fantastic landscape including the mountains, volcanoes, waterfalls, fjords and glaciers.

    – I adore trying new food and I am particularly fond of seafood, so for me to have an opportunity to try out Iceland’s seafood restaurants would be an experience to cherish.

    – As a music lover it would be a great novelty to visit the country of some acts that I love to listen including Sigur Rós & Of Monsters and Men

    – I love football and Iceland’s success at the recent European Championships was terrific to see. It would be amazing to visit some of the stadiums and facilities of this up and coming national team. I also have followed their domestic league in recent seasons and whatever country I visit I try to visit football stadiums so to have a chance to visit teams such as FH Hafnarfjörður, Stjarnan or Breidablik would be incredible for me.

I would LOVE to go to Iceland everything about it seems magical, the Icelandic Horses, the Fjords, the stunning scenery, the Fire and Ice landscapes, the Folklore. I love that Iceland has no military and jails its corrupt bankers! My kind of country! I have only met one Icelandic person in my travels, so I would love to go there and meet lots of locals, and discover what all the fuss is about. Every since I was little, I have wanted to go here, I’m not exactly sure why, I just have a pull towards the mystery of Iceland. I would take one of my best friends on an epic adventure that we would never forget.

Hi. So… Why am I entering this competition ? Only because it is my dream to discover the beauty of Iceland. As a true solo traveller, I haven’t been there only because I don’t have the money to afford such a journey. This country is also the one main country that my best friend wants to discover. I have heard him talking about it for a long time. He only have never given himself the chance to go (maybe out of lack of courage to just go). He recently has been diagnosed having depression. So if I win this competition, I would want to take him with me. Because I believe dreams can bring happiness and positivity in someone’s life.
